Happy #ComingOutDay, Los Angeles! We've got a Freedom Song for you.

Inspired by Harry Belafonte's #CivilRights version of the spiritual “Michael Row The Boat Ashore,” The Queer Choir of K-Town came together on a shared-use street in Koreatown to record a DefundPolice version for L.A in 2020, with the election approaching.

In gratitude to the Black Trans vanguard of the LGBTQIA+ Rights Movement in the United States, this is our #NaionalComingOutDay offering. #BlackTransLivesMatter, today and every day.

And to Harry Belafonte, to the SNCC Freedom Singers, and the Freedom Riders of 1964, who knew the power of music as a tool for social change and movement building: thank you for your songs.

The Queer Choir of K-Town is made up of local #queer activists, a couple members of The Trans Chorus of Los Angeles, and one 78-year-old veteran Freedom Rider of Freedom Summer, 1964 (he wants you to vote!)
